Is it suitable?
Whether an implant is suitable depends on the amount and quality of bone, gum health and your general medical condition. This is decided after an examination and an X-ray.
The process usually has two stages
In the first, the implant is placed. The bone then needs time to heal around it — this period varies from person to person and is commonly measured in months. In the second stage the crown is fitted.
This means most implant treatments cannot be completed in a single visit. At least two separate appointments are needed, with a healing period in between. How long that period is in your case can only be said after an examination.
Tell us before treatment
Let us know if you use blood thinners or bone medication (such as those taken for osteoporosis), or if you have diabetes. These affect how the procedure is planned.
Afterwards
Swelling and discomfort for a few days after the procedure are expected and not a sign that something has gone wrong.
